There are three type of speeding tickets: speeding 1-25 mph over the posted speed limit, 26-34 over the posted speed limit and 35 mph and above the posted speed limit.
The first ticket, speeding 1-25 mph the Court will also you to simply pay the fine and a court appearance will not be required. However, by paying the fine you are buying yourself a CONVICTION and this will be a mark against your driving record and will cause your insurance to increase. So, even a minor ticket you need to take it seriously and try to have the ticket either dismissed or reduced to a non-moving violation. If those two options are not possible, having the ticket disposed of with Court Supervision might be the only option. However, as an Attorney, I work hard to try to dispose of the ticket without having to resort to Court Supervision.
The second ticket type of ticket, 26-34 and third type, 35 mph over both required the assistance of an attorney as these cases are misdemeanors, and are classified as criminal offenses.
